Destination Overview

Mount Harriet, now officially renamed Mount Manipur, is the third-highest peak in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago, standing at 383 meters. The national park is covered in dense evergreen forests that shelter a wide array of endemic flora and fauna, making it a hotspot for nature photography, hiking, and bird watching.

Historical Significance

The picture on the back of the old ₹20 Indian rupee note showing a scenic bay was shot from Mount Harriet. It also played a historical role as the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during the British Raj.
